The idea “ to make more with less energy” is at the core of the campaign against global warming.
The prognoses are that until 2050, more than half of the world energy needs will be met via renewable sources as sun, wind and biomass.
In South-east Europe, the establishment of regional energy market is to come. According to the experts the region has enormous potential and possibility to be in the race for new technologies development.
The statistics show that Bulgaria has the highest indicators in energy consumption among the EU countries. European Commission data points out that the South-east European countries have the lowest prices of domestic and industrial electricity usage.
During the 3-day congress, a forum on bio-energy will be opened. Its topic will be the extraction of energy from nature and waste.
“Climate change and strong energy dependency are among the biggest challenges for the contemporary economy and power engineering in the EU countries. If we don't take fast and adequate measures, in 2030 Europe will import around 90% of its oil fuel and 80% of the used natural gas, while the fuel prices will be increasing”, said Rumen Ovcharov, Minister of Economy and Energy at the opening of the forum.
Energy effectiveness become more and more sensitive topic both in business and society. This fact is proven by the participation in the congress of more than 350 leading specialists from companies, organizations, scientific institutes, government and municipalities, academic fields, students and journalists from 23 countries.
The main aim of the congress is to popularize the renewable sources as a perspective way for production and saving of energy and to promote business development in this field.
