The illegal construction works of ski zone round Panichishte and the 7 Rila lakes continue, although these areas are preserved by ‘Natura 2000' program.
20 decares (about 5 acres) from the National Park Pila Mountain territory are usurped. On practice the ski- resort Panichishte- 7 lakes- Kabul buildings continue, though it is banned by law.
Vacation flats are already being sold ‘on green', thought they are not built yet.
The new ski tracks which are being constructed there are formally hidden behind ‘fire-precaution openings', which makes the buildings legal. But actually forest missives are felled to build up the illegal ski tracks.
The ‘Panichishte' case is only an emblem of what is happening in Bulgarian restricted areas. The scheme has been one and the same for a long time now and is already executed in Rila, Bansko and the seaside, claim the environmentalists.
Investors and municipalities united about 12 projects for building in the Bulgarian national parks.
According to Konstantin Dichev, behind these buildings stand offshore firms, which launder money in Bulgaria.
The Government defends the interests of the organized criminality, added Dichev.
