After the greeting and the dispatch of the French airplane, Bulgarian PM Sergei Stanishev thanked for the efforts to the Bulgarian state and the extremely strong support of the EU and the member-countries that stood right behind the Bulgarian cause.

The argument that outweighed over all was the EU entering, which turned the issue into EU one.

We received big support by the EU Parliament, the Council of Foreign Ministers and the European Council of Premiers.

Snanishev shared with the media his first words to the nurses: Welcome back, the drama is over, you are home now.

It was very exciting, said Stanishev. The important now is that they are feeling good, they are home and the 8 years nightmare is over now.

Bulgarian medics together with their families are accommodated in Boyana residence for a few days to have a rest.

American Ambassador John Bayer comments: One thing is important now, that the nurses are on Bulgarian territory. Bravo!

Bulgarian President georgy purvanov is expected to make a statement later on today.
