Two interesting stories have caught my eye, and both neatly segway together.
Both come courtesy of Setanta as Juande Ramos says he has a transfer window target in mind and David Villa's agent reportedly says his client would be interested in a move to White Hart Lane.
Senor Ramos cites the defence as needing some work and admits: "It is certain that most of our problems are in the defensive area. It's not easy. I can make a few changes, but not change the whole group."
He also adds he needs to work on the confidence within the whole squad and reveals: "We're looking at one player in the transfer window to strengthen a certain position."
Well, a) I should hope so and b) given all our issues, it is unlikely he's looking at a striker. The Valencia forward might well be keen on a move to Spurs although his agent's quote only goes so far as saying: "I am convinced that, if Tottenham presented an offer to Valencia, the club would take it into consideration."
That's not exactly a green light is it - a player's current club would listen to offers from an interested club, isn't that just how football works! I really can't see it happening, can you?
Why on earth would we spend money on another striker when there are so many other positions that need strengthening first.
And if we did, it would mean one of our fantastic four having to leave and that could only mean Berbatov, and I'm sure he'll stay until the end of the season at least.
Still, it's an interesting dream, the Spanish hit-man could set the Premier League alight but despite the media trying their best to link us with every star who wants to play in England, this one is pretty unlikely from the off - and if Villa was the man Ramos has in mind, I'd be very, very surprised!
