If border control is not increased and quotas and higher import taxes are not implemented for fruits and vegetables outside the EU, Bulgarian producers will go bankrupt, the Chair of the Association Ivaylo Todorov stated, cited by BNR.
When countries like Turkey and Macedonia import fruits and vegetables 2nd and 3rd quality given that Europe has a requirement for extra and first quality minimum, this means dumping prices, he explained.
Border control is needed, Todorov is emphatic. He added that even in the Agriculture Ministry when they offer certain products, they see experts not acquainted with the EU regulations.
