All the data about secret agents, plans and current operations of the Macedonian Security and Intelligence Agency have been stolen from the archives and given to Bulgaria. This claims one of the most popular Macedonian newspapers “Dnevnik”.
On its front page under a title “Our intelligence agents surrendered to Bulgaria”, the edition claims that a collaborator of the Security and Intelligence Agency has photocopied top secret data, ran away to Bulgaria a moth ago and has handed them in to the Bulgarian state security service.
Dnevnik newspaper basis its arguments on undisclosed sources from the Macedonian Ministry of Interior and claims that the collaborator was an analyzer in the intelligence agency and a grandson of the former minister of interior of Macedonia – Dosta Dimovska. At the moment she is director of the Macedonian cultural institute in Sofia.
The newspaper points out that an internal investigation in the Macedonian intelligence under the code name “Sofia” is being conducted.
Dnevnik claims that the director of the Bulgarian state security service has called the Macedonian director of the Security and Intelligence Agency to congratulate him that he was the first to give signal about the situation.
The missing files contain information about the Macedonian intelligence network, for the restoration of which more than 20 years will be needed, adds the newspaper.
