Sofia University ‘St. Kliment Ohridski' heads Top 10 of Bulgarian universities, says a research of Alfa research agency,requested by 24 Chasa daily.
Alma Mater reached almost 30% in a survey among 480 school leavers with intentions to continue thier studies in a university.
Second in the ratings is Sofia's National and World Economy University with 22%. Third is Varna's Economic University with 20%.
The Technical University in Sofia ranks fourth - 15%, and Veliko Turnovo University is fifth with 14%.
The sixth place is taken by Southwestern University of Blagoevgrad with almost 10%, followed by Medical University in Sofia (9%), Plovdiv University (8.7%), Economic Academy in Svishtov (8%).
The last 10th place is shared by New Bulgarian University in Sofia and the University of Architecture, Construction and Geodesy, each with 6,5%.
Bulgarian students who prefer to study abroad showed as preferable Hague University and the Erasmus University in Rotterdam with 9%.
Next is University of Cologne (7%), University of the Arts in London with 4%, University of Oxford, University of Paris, University of Edinburgh, Harvard University and Princeton.
The seniors placed as most-preferred country for university studies UK with 31%, followed by Germany 21,6% and the US - 17,6%.
The majority (84%) of Bulgarian school leavers intend to apply only for Bulgarian universities. Only 4% of the asked youngsters prefer to study abroad.
