Bulgaria's chief prosecutor Boris Velchev termed the case with Maxim Staviski as banal. Despite the severe car crash, from a judicial point of view the case is banal – a charge has been put forward, there will be a trial and the court will decide, claimed Velchev before a session of the supreme judicial council.
Yesterday the prosecutor's office in Bourgas brought a charge against the double world figure skating champion. He is charged for causing imprudently transport accident, which led to severe consequences.
On this charge Maxim could get 3 to 10 years in prison.
To remind that on 6 August 2007 Maxim Staviski had a car accident with his jeep “Hammer”. A 24-year old man died and a girl is still in coma.
