EU will bring back to life transport corridor No 8 between Bulgaria and Macedonia and will cover the resources for the reconstruction of the ‘rusty' train line between the two countries with EU's financial plans for the period 2010-2013, informed Macedonian media.

This was announced by EU commissioner of transport Mr. Baro. He said that in two years EU will be financed transport corridor No 10 and after that will be paid attention to No8, because neither Bulgaria nor Macedonia demanded the Union for this.

Probably the train line reconstruction will cost half billion EUR. On Bulgarian territory the layout is 2,5 km, on Macedonian - 83 km.

The project was started in early 90's, but the construction sides stopped in 2001.

Transport corridor No 8: Durres (Albania) - Tirane (Albania) - Skopje (Macedonia) - Sofia - Plovdiv - Burgas/Varna.

Transport corridor No 10: Salzburg (Austria) - Ljubljana (Slovenia) - Zagreb (Croatia) - Beograd (Serbia) - Nish (Serbia) - Sofia.
