"There isn't other way to define the new charges against the Bulgarian medics of slandering the police, except cynical" said the public prosecutor Boris Velchev.

When asked why the Libyan justice accuses the medics precisely now and can this possibly have a connection to the trial which starts in Bulgaria against the Libyan torturers of the medics, Boris Velchev said it is not likely to be coincidence.

"After Libya closed the trial against the torturers so quickly, it was natural for Bulgaria to investigate the case and start a new trial against Libyan officers" added Velchev

Sofia's public prosecutor Nikolay Kokinov explained the Bulgarian side is working on its own strategy at the case with the torturers.

We intend to ask for the co-operation of Libyan authority since we have a contract since 1985 for legal help.

The accusation will be brought against the 11 torturer officers tomorrow in Sofia.

Lawyer of the Bulgarian medics Georgy Gatev is in Libya. His colleague Harry Haralampiev is going to Libya tomorrow. They are going to discuss with the nurses the development of the trail.
