Huge Traffic Jams Form in Sofia as Hundreds Take to the Streets

(News.bg) -- Huge traffic jams have formed in the centre of the Bulgarian capital, as thousands took to the streets today to protests against low pensions, the high tax on home-made rakia and the chaos in healthcare.
Police say no incidents have so far been reported. But cordinary citizens say they are fed up with the protests which take place on a daily basis in the capital. Trams, cars, and buses came to a halt as swarms of people flooded the streets of Sofia.
The protestors are expected to gather in "St. Alexander Nevski" square around noon.
