Around 20 000 Stray Dogs in Sofia

The number of stray dogs in Sofia will be clear in two months. This is the necessary time they to be counted by a methodology of Bulgarian Academy of Science.
At the moment, stray dogs are around 20 000, said Miroslav Naydenov, the director of “Econravnovesie” company.
Together with the mayor of Sofia Boiko Borissov and the German ambassador Michael Geier, he participated in the opening of the renewed by Bulgarian-German society for animal protection dog asylum in Lozenetz for which 85 thousand euro have been spent.
Earlier, Boiko Borissov informed that the dog breed “Bulgarian shepherd's” is already internationally recognized and Bulgaria has its dog.
