Every forth woman is à victim of domestic violence and every third man knows someone, suffered from domestic violence.

That was announced by Vice Minister of Labor and Social Policy Ivanka Hristova on a conference, dedicated to the domestic violence prevention.

She underlined, in some families violence had turned into behavior norm, similar to sadism and recidivists' behavior. Violence deprives private freedom and ruins human dignity.

According to statistics, 60% of boys, been observers of such behavior, become violators and 50% of girls turn into victims of domestic violence, underlined vice minister.

She reminded in Bulgaria is active low for domestic violence prevention, but it is enforced only in cases, in which victim requires to. 50% of the initiated proceedings have been ceased.

Problem in Bulgaria is also the insufficient financing of prevention and consequences of domestic violence. According to Council of Europe data, in this direction should be shared 40 EUR yearly per man. In Bulgaria the amount is 1 EUR.
