Here you will find the latest articles, news, interviews and comments from today's Bulgarian press:

The Trud daily

"240 levs salary from the state for the unemployed", "Trud" informs in its front material. Through programmes worth 135 million levs the Social Ministry will fight the crisis, while today is the start of a project for the training of 18 000 unemployed over 50 years of age, the Employment agency announced. After that they will be sent to work for 3 months in companies, as the state will pay them a salary of 240 levs. Another 15 million levs are planned for computer and language training for people with high school education, while 70 million - for the starting of a business.

Ministers from the government of Sergey Stanishev have spent over 2990 days abroad on business trips, according to a check-up for the period from the beginning of the mandate by the end of 2008, cited by "Trud". For their travels outside Bulgaria ministers have spent  2 113 492.06 levs. The paper informs on ministerial business trips in the its main feature "Temata" (the Topic).

The 24 chasa daily

"Central heating controlled by the deputies", "24 chasa" announced. On Wednesday the energy commission has invited the bosses of Sofia central heating and the federation of firms for the distribution of capital distribution in the parliament. The reason is the different interpretations why January bills for central heating are high, when there was no normal supply.

"The Ministry of Internal Affairs cannot act as KGB", the Chair of the internal parliamentary commission Mincho Spasov comments for "24 chasa". The reason for the interview is the discontent of the Internal Affairs Ministry that the law on electronic messages precludes them from investigating child pornography and computer crimes. The nostalgia on uncontrolled surveillance is to an extent explainable by the inertia from socialism, when the Internal Affairs Ministry was an all-powerful institution in the state, Spasov says. The order-observing organs have access and should not complain that their hands are tied for big crimes - this is not true, he is emphatic.

The Sega daily

"The business demands a reduction of insurance because of the crisis", "Sega" announces from its front page. The business demands emergency economic measures because of the world financial crisis and its reflection in Bulgaria. The idea, which includes a new reduction of insurances and a more flexible legislation, was proposed by the Association of of industrial capital in Bulgaria on a forum under the patronage of premier Sergey Stanishev. Yesterday Minister Emilia Maslarova announced that insurance cannot be indefinitely reduced. She advised firms to cut "luxury expenditures" and to decrease their profits, the paper reminds.
