The first swine flu case is registered in Varna. Yesterday a 54-year old man was received in the Infection clinic of “St. Marina” hospital. He had the typical symptoms of the contagious disease.
“He didn’t search for his GP. He had the typical symptoms of the virus illness – cough, cold, not very high temperature – around 37 degrees, pains in the muscles and the throat.
He decided on his own and went directly to the clinic”, informs the cite Dnes+, citing dr. Aneta Kirova from the department for control over the contagious diseases in the Regional inspectorate for preservation and control of the public health.
The man from Varna was on a 10-day holiday in Spain, where the first swine flu cases in Europe were registered.
He was visiting his friends who were not ill. Dr. Kirova, however, stressed that the infections specialists connect the typical symptoms with his stay in Spain. On the third day after coming back from Spain the man felt sick and decided it was correct to refer to the competent health authorities.
The patient is isolated in a separate room, because the doctors thought there was a reason to be isolates and to stay in the hospital. Treatment with “Tamiflu” has started immediately.
