Petar Stoyanov or Konstantin Dimitrov could have been members of the European parliament if they were in one list, claimed in a interview for Bulgarian national television the leader of Democrats for Strong (DSB) Bulgaria Ivan Kostov. He offered directly negotiations for rapprochement and alliance between the Union of democratic forces (UDF) and DSB.
According to him, it was obvious mistake that the two parties presented themselves separately on the Sunday elections.
Kostov pointed that the electorate opposed the division between UDF and DSB.
If the two parties went to the exams together, they could have had two MEPs, claimed the DSB leader and added that than both GERB and BSP would have had less seats in the European parliament.
Those who vote for us, do not accept Boiko Borissov and Ataka, they know that Borrisov preferred to leave the fire-department but not Bulgarian communist party and was from SIK insurance company.
Kostov commented that the division between the two rightist parties comes from UDF's decision after the presidential elections that “we cant do more together”.
Our fault is that we didn't make efforts to dissuade them, explained the former prime minister.
According to Kostov it is possible a coalition agreement for joint participation in the local election to be signed or the two parties to get united.
I do not desert and I do not hide from taking responsibility, but I have not clung to the politics, said Kostov expressing readiness, if necessary, to give up the leadership in case of possible coalition.
