Till the end of 2006, in Bulgaria's capital were registered 1,500,000 people, reported Ivan Balev, head of Demographic and Social researches in the National Statistical Institute. Balev does not expect Sofia's population to reach 2 million people.
In 2011 will be taken a European census, which includes a Bulgarian census as part of the EU.
