Half of the Unemployed Over 50 Years - Discriminated

46% of the unemployed in Bulgaria between 50 and 60 years have no work exactly because of their age. The problem with the age discrimination on the work place could be solved, the Social Ministry expert Veselin Ilkov thinks.
He proposes an employer ethic codex to be accepted, which not to allow age discrimination.
Except that, the collective labour contracts could be included in specific clauses, protecting the more elder servants of unfavorable retirement.
Although since 1 October 2006 there is low defence against the age discrimination, there still are many employers in Bulgaria who use the advance in years as excuse for dismissing or eliminating by competition for vacation work place a person, without taking under consideration the qualification and skills of the man.
