The five nurses tried to stay calm and listened carefully to what the Libyan court had to say. No translation was provided for the accused.
Valia Cherveniashka addressed the Bulgarian media and told reporters "We thank all Bulgarians who supported us and organized the protest yesterday in Sofia."
Bulgarian parliament has issued a declaration condemning the verdict. "The verdict is grossly unfair. These are innocent people and the Libyan court is trying to hide the true culprits."

Many experts have provided evidence saying the medics are innocent. "This is a real tragedy for the Libyan children but sentencing the nurses to death makes it even worse."
The declaration was issued minutes after the Libyan court announced its decision.
"They must execute them as soon as possible," he added.
