Here you will find the latest articles, news, interviews and comments from today's Bulgarian press:

The Trud daily

"Lay offs in the Internal Affairs Ministry - within 15 days", "Trud" points out. Within 15 days there will be lay offs in the Internal Affairs Ministry, Internal Affairs Minister Mihail Mikov announced yesterday. The first to leave the system will be coinciding units and structures. However, no employees dealing with operative and security activity will be laid off. Only through a restructuring and lay off of units and people is the increase of police salaries possible, Mikov explained.

"How not to make a right unification", "Trud" commented. And investigates the project for unification proposed by the National council of SDS. Quite innocently it is labeled "A union of the right forces" - SDS. It is true that the brand is important but this is not well-mannered. The document reads that only anti-communism supporting political organizations will participate in the union, which have been a firm opposition to the current authority. In translation - we do not want BND, which split from NDSV. Moreover, in the general lists only individuals, who have high public authority and proven political loyalty, have not taken advantage of their participation in the government and have not altered the vote of the people can participate. If this is interpreted vis-à-vis, SDS must not go to the elections including with a part of itself.

"Crisis! 3264 people to be laid off", is the topic of "Trud". The Employment agency yesterday has received notifications from employers for the lay off of 3264 individuals. Regarding this matter the boss of the Agency Sotir Ushev commented: "We will not allow the crisis to disrupt our balance. 1790 million levs have been planned in the budget for different measures on employment and qualification. This is a lot of money that is going towards its destination." The most endangered and affected by lay offs because of partial or complete suspension of production are the people from the textile and tailoring industry, builders, metallurgists, extractors, producers of plastic.

The 24 chasa daily

"Central heating might drop in price beginning April", "24 chasa" announces. If the analysis of the condition of the central heating companies shows that there are reserves, central heating will decrease in price beginning April. This was the answer of Energy Minister Petar Dimitrov to a question whether the decrease of the price of gas in the second quarter will affect heating energy. During the opening of a conference for Bulgarian energy strategy by 2020, the Minister explained that there was a demand by the Russian side that the transit pipes are included in the route of "South stream". "We will not allow a merging of the current network with the project", Dimitrov was emphatic. For the projects connected to new routes and gas sources, our country will have to look for financing on its own.

The Sega daily

"Were we supposed to save democracy?" is the analysis in "Sega". The author turns attention that the strangest idea, which circulates in the last weeks, is in connection to the elections. According to it after the vote, a programme government must be created. On top of the state to be 15 experts, while parties support them firmly. Similar procedure, however, does not exist in the Constitution of any country pretending to be democratic. The most tragic thing is if ideas for programme government blossom, only to justify the birth of another mega-coalition, which even if it loses the elections to have its justification to demand participation in the power. There will be parties, media, sociologists and observers, who after the vote will say - yes, we lost, but now we have to save democracy.
