The six times Oskars nominee Peter Wier will film a movie in Bulgaria. The Australian is well-known for his masterpieces "The Truman Show", "Dead Poets' society" and "Master and Commander".

His new movie will be named "The Way Back" and will star Colin Farrell  and Ed Harris. The shooting starts in March, and its premiere will be in 2011.

The first casting for Bulgarian extras was today, at 2 p.m. in front of Sofia Theatre, Novinar reports.

The requirements are that the candidates should be very thin, probably because thy will be convicts in Siberia, in the GULAG camps.

The film tells the fact-based story centered on soldiers who escaped from a Siberian gulag in 1940. It is based on the book by Slavomir Ravich "The Long Walk: the true story of a path to freedom". Ravich and six other people manage to cross Siberia, the Gobi Desert, Tibet and the Himalayas, reaching India.
