"Citizens must not be so patient", Vice Premier Meglena Plugchieva said in an interview for "Trud". And underlines "It is hard, but Bulgarian society must become more active. We Bulgarians turned out to be extremely patient - to state employees' and political carelessness. Civil implacability - towards politicians, institutions and the execution of their duties is needed. Because they forget that they occupy these positions, in order to service citizens. If we do not give up passivity, we will not continue forward."

"The Premier: We cannot reduce the tax on foods", "Trud" points out. Premier Sergey Stanishev met yesterday producers and processors of milk and meat. The industry demanded support and protection of cattle-breeding , which is not receiving enough subsidies and is not competitive on the European market. People from the industry demanded VAT reduction on foods to 10% with the motive that this will shrink the gray sector, will improve competitiveness of Bulgarian products and will eliminate import of unrealistically low prices. Stanishev has refused with the explanation that the financial ministry is against this, since it would negatively affect the budget.

"Why the European Commission does not give us the Euro", is the commentary in "Trud". For now the only demand of our country for aid in the financial crisis is to enter the waiting room, called "European monetary mechanism ERM" and to change the Bulgarian lev with the common European currency. In a reply the boss of the European commission Jose Barrosso said that we have to wait until we meet the requirements. The only condition, which we are not meeting is the level of inflation. But because of the financial crisis inflation in Bulgaria will probably decrease under 4%, and maybe even 3%. If they refuse to admit us then, it would be clear they don't want us in the club of the rich.

The 24 chasa

"Pasi not taken on a meeting with NATO", "24 chasa" announces. The Chair of the Foreign commission Solomon Pasi, who is a candidate for the position Secretary General of NATO, will not be included in the Bulgarian delegation for a meeting at the top  of the pact in the beginning of April. This was clear from a decision, which is to be voted on today. It will also be decided who is going to accompany President Georgi Parvanov in Strasbourg and Kel.

"Despite the crisis 6% increase in 2008", "24 chasa" informs. Our economy has an increase of 6%, data by the National Statistics Institute show, which was announced yesterday. The GDP for last year is 66,728 billion levs. Per person there are 8711 levs, or 4454 Euro. Even in the height of the world crisis in the end of 2008 our economy reported an increase of 3,5% for the forth quarter.

The Sega daily

"The National Treasury Palace will observe how EU money is spent", is the heading of an interview in "Sega" with Professor Valeri Dimitrov, Chief of the National Treasury Palace. A discussion is forthcoming in the commission on European matters in the National Assembly of two reports of the palace on European funds. In this connection, Dimitrov points out that the idea of audits was to see how the system for management of European funds functions as a whole  in a given moment. When there is a complicated system of organs it often turns out that everyone works for himself and the entire system is not synchronized and not functioning. Within the audit period a multitude of drawbacks of the system have been found and they have been pointed in the reports of the Treasury Palace.
