Landslide zone under Assenova fortress to be stabilized

Assenovgrad won 415 thousand euro for the stabilization of the landslides to the historic Assenova fortress. The strengthening of the landslide terrains starts from the section under the fortress to the village of Lyaskovo, informed Radio Plovdiv.
The funds are under a project submitted to the Ministry of regional development and public works after we got a refusal for funding from the interdepartmental committee on emergencies, informed the mayor dr. Hristo Grudev.
The stabilization of the zone around the national cultural monument is obligatory for the start of a 2.2 million euro large scale project for turning the Assenova fortress into an attractive tourist destination.
